57 guests' feedbackWe had a lovely visit at Addo African Home. All I would improve is the hanging space for towels, we were a family of four, but there is only hanging space for 1 towel. The restaurant is priced quite high for a family meal, but the food was delicious.
Nice place with friendly people, very clean, good food. Ecological concept, they are doing well!
The manager/owner Mr. Klaassen was very friendly and helpful. No problems with the accommodation, but the place was further from Addo park than we expected and we would have liked to park closer to the rondavel. But on the whole, it was a good night's sleep.
Staff was very friendly and peaceful setting.
These people went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. We wanted to barbecue one night. They provided us with a braai, grill and wood. Even for us comes deck next to our rondavel. Friendliest staff. We went to eat at their restaurant one night. Food was great.
Upon our arrival we were received very kindly. We were escorted to our room, and shown around the premises. I requested for barbecue, barbecue plus basket full of barbecue supplies was brought to our unit. We swam very well, slept and had the most delicious breakfast.
Hostess was very friendly but unsure of reservation and had to call cleaner in a hurry to get rondavel ready.
Very nice accommodation. Clean. The owners only go for the best. Restaurant looks amazing, natural pool with the most beautiful birds to watch. Upon arrival we received a welcome drink (out of 8 accommodations, this was the only one in South Africa that offered us this).
A fantastic place to spend a few days close to Addo. Friendly service, attention to detail, high-quality finishing, and to top it all, an excellent French restaurant. Highly recommended! Hoogs aanbeveel!
This place is not in the Addo Elephant Park as indicated on the website and it has no self-catering facilities.

Quiet and beautiful garden. Felt safe and friendly staff. Didn't miss the absence of a TV. Just be careful not to step on the very small frogs. They were plentiful. Thanks enjoyed it there.
The food was very expensive in the restaurant, and not many options to choose from! Vegetables were tasteless! Just after 6 o'clock on a Sunday morning, they cut branches with a chainsaw! And one morning we had no water to shower at all, just after the power went out!

Very friendly hosts, beautiful rondawels and gardens with a lovely natural pool. We had a good stay. Pitty it is situated so close to the township, music and noise through the night. Vegetable garden is so pretty laid out but neglected. Some TLC needed in the gardens. Otherwise very upmarket and enjoyable. Lovely restaurant with freshly made well presented food.
Customer service is so rare these days. But then you go and stay at the Addo African Home, Restaurant and Safari and your faith in the service industry is restored. I felt looked after. The confirmation call on my day of arrival to the service I received as we leaving, assisting me bookings to my destination. The dinner at the restaurant was great and on par with the 5 restaurants I had been to in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Again the service was nothing but top class. I will definitely return and highly recommend to any traveling to Addo.
Rondavel spacious, neat, clean. Logging close to Addo Elephant Park.
When we arrived shortly before midnight on the 31 December 2020 we were tired and hungry. The midnight snack they prepared for us was the most delicious a new year gift that we will never forget. The room is immaculately clean. The outdoors are an epitome of the true African character. Staff is equally friendly and all of them radiate unquestionable customer care.
The entire resort and gardens and gardens are stylishly designed. The service and food was superb. Highly recommend!

We weren't quite sure what to expect from Addo African Home (formerly Die Aardvark). We were pleasantly surprised. We had an en suite room in what is called The House.(There are also rondawels and glamping tents.) It was clean and comfortable with good storage space. There is also a comfortable communal lounge and well-equipped kitchen and one has one's own bar fridge - a thoughtful touch. The staff generally were friendly and helpful, especially the breakfast room, security and maintenance staff. Be warned: the restaurant is (in our opinion) over-priced for nouvelle cuisine portions!.
Definitely a place to stay the night. Tent accommodation was a winner. Everything was clean and tidy. Our foreign guests were extremely impressed with the type of accommodation. Food from the restaurant was heavenly. Thank you very much.

A good stay and good service and the safari was very well organised to see a lot of game especially the elephants at close range! Game rangers where excellent. The lunch time braai was very tasty, only needed a few snacks while waiting for meat to cook, but most enjoyable food and drinks a plenty on a hot day!

We enjoyed the very spacious tent and private family bathroom. The kitchen facility was spacious with everything we needed. Children enjoyed the natural swimming pool a lot. Pity about the road noise in the early morning, but otherwise great stay.
Positive experience: The personal attention of the lady who does the management at Addo African Home (if I remember correctly she has been there for 10 to 15 years) was top class. She arranged for a braai outside the rondavel where we stayed with a table and two chairs (we only got there before 9 on Saturday after the rugby in PE). The breakfast the next morning was very tasty and very well presented. Negative experience: Shower water that smells like sewage. Had trouble in the beginning talking to someone at the Addo African Home (AAH) to make specific arrangements. The contact number for AAH is for people who live in Cape Town and have never been to AAH and this makes it difficult to make arrangements with the staff at AAH with your specific personal requirements.

The location of the accommodation was very nice, not far to travel to the Elephant Park. Nice and quiet - like living on a farm.
We slept in a tent, it's spacious and convenient. The kitchen and bathroom are a few steps from the tent and they're well and neatly equipped. Staff are friendly and helpful. Our only problem was the traffic noise early in the morning.

Kids found this swimming pool to be the best of our holiday, big, yes tadpoles, but lovely temperature. Sort of a smurf town with round houses, nice experience. I expected the location to be something more tropical, more in the bush or something, but that's not the case. Minibar available. Unfortunately, no water for showering until 2 times in the morning, shower did look very nice. New Year's dinner was disappointing, but that's personal. A number of students walk around if they want to. Kunnen/zijn didn't say but. Snappen hasn't quite got it yet.
I had a room with no windows - it had a glass door, but you can't sleep with the door open! Th restaurant was fantastic though.

We slept in a rondavel and that was a nice experience. Everything was immaculately clean and present, even for both of them one bathrobe with slippers. Delicious breakfast on the terrace outside. Located less than 10 minutes drive from Addo Elephant National Park.
If you like a hostel setup with small rooms and a shared kitchen, living room and dining room, with guests who hang out and make noise until late at night and the others who start cooking and talking again from 5 o'clock in the morning, then the place for you! It's not for me though.
Slept in the tent, it is very spacious, shower and toilet in the building, excellent and very clean. Friendly staff, nice restaurants in the area. Top accommodation.

Our family slept in tents, lovely experience and clean and tidy, despite cold weather, welcome was warm and so was sleeping experience. Close to Addo Elephant Park. People are aware of things to do in the area and we liked having a private fridge and washing facilities despite having a "commune" kitchen.
